We sow an acre of potatoes almost every year. We sow Irish Queen, Champion, Kerr's Pink, Aran chief, Aran banner and Epicures. The best varieties of potatoes are the Champion and Kerr's Pink.
The potatoes that have local names are the Castleblakney and the Irish Queen.
