    Turf mould got into the eye of Mrs Burke (deceased) Knockroe, Dunmore, Co. Galway and she visited an old man who lived in Claddagh, Tuam, who was known to set charms for sicknesses and complaints of various kinds.

    Bhí fear a raibh mórán do shaidhbhreas an t-saoghail aige ina chomhnuidhe i dTulac na Dála fadó agus níor mhaith leis bás a fhághail cor ar bith. Tháinig an bás chuige agus labhair leis. Dubhairt an fear saidhbhir peigint dó agus go dtuibhradh sé bronntanas mór dó. Adeir sé:-
    "Tiubhraidh mé duit Tulach na Dála, Condaoe Sliabh agus Dúnmór ach gan filleadh orm arís.
    Dfhreagar an bás agus dubhairt:-
    "Mise fear nach glacann bríb
