    It is unlucky to throw anything out on New Year's Day
    The doors of some houses are left open on Christmas Eve night.
    People do not go over walls or across rivers on Whit Sunday.
    People go out on St. John's night putting the sign of the cross on their crops with wisps of straw.
    If a cow calved on Whit Sunday or Monday the calf would be wicked.
    Some people do not set the first clutch of eggs a young goose would lay.
    It is not right to throw out water on Christmas Eve night.
    If a fork fell on the floor it is a sign of a strange man coming in
