  1. All you who love the shamrock green attend unto my tale,
    These lines are true you may depend I'm going to reveal.
    Concerning our Clostoken men I mean to let you know
    To clear Rathmuddy farm they manfully did go.

    Twas when they heard that Burton Persse from Athenry did creep
    Accompanied by his herds for the shearing of the sheep.
    They drove out cattle, herds and sheep with half its fleece
    Although it was protected by Loughrea town police.

    There Connolly, Healy, Duggan & likewise Martin Quinn
    And our gallant youth John Keary, they were all united men.
    These fine men they were summoned & tried in Loughrea town,
    Convicted by removal, their courage to break down.
