    More than a century ago Rush had a fleet of fishing boats. Almost half the inhabitants of the town were engaged in this industry. In small open vessels the fisherman sailed so far as the Downings in Donegal and Rosslare in Wexford in search of herrings and mackerel. The curing of skate, cod and ling were smaller industries and when the fish was cured the buyers both men and women came from Drogheda and other large towns to buy it. Of late years both the fishing and fish curing industries have almost ceased.
    About forty years ago a bulb-farm began in Rush under the direction of "Hogg and Robertson." For some years it was a thriving industry and gave employment to hundreds of people. After the European War it failed, but of late it was revived by people of Holland. Throughout North
