The girls of long ago had great pastimes. They used to make all their own toys, such as dolls and daisy chains. Alot of girls used to gather together and each one used to bring a dress or a cap or some old rag with her. They used to pack the dress with rags and put a cap on it, and carry it with them, They used to sing and dance around the doll. When night came they put the doll into a special house and left her there until the next morning.
