Long ago the games were very simple. The girls passed their playtimes in making dolls and playing tops. They also made daisy-chains. The game they mostly played was playing marbles. They also had gladd lillies. The child-
ren made a ring of marbles on the sand and made a hole on the other side. They left a space for the marbles to run through. They child that put the marble into the hole got two buttons, and the child that put a glass lillie into the hole got four buttons. The children had to stand a certain distance from the ring.
