    [page no.: 147]
About seventy years ago there were rocks and flags of stone in the middle of a field in Cashelcraw. The man who owned this field was very annoyed with this obstacle because it was in the way of the plough and it was very big.
One day the man dug it out and put it in the byre. Two cows were able to stand on it. Next morning the two cows were dead. The man took out the flag and left it where he got it. Next day a fairy was seen sitting on the rock, and the man never touched them ever after.
