  1. In olden times people got three meals a day and they were breakfast, dinner and supper.
    In the morning people went out to work for about one hour before they got their breakfast.
    The people in olden times had potatoes for every meal only their breakfast. There was buttermilk drunk in olden times.
    The people sat round the table in the centre of the floor,and sometimes a round table was hung against the wall.
    In olden times people ate oaten bread. Salt meat was used for eating in olden times.
    Once upon a time there was a man hired with another man and he got potatoes to every meal and he was tired getting potatoes and he said he would make a song:
    "The mistress she rose in the morning.
    She washed the wee pot very clean.
    I thought it was porridge for breakfast,
    But "sing hi"! twas potatoes again".
    Bowls were used in olden times before cups.
    Fowls were eaten at Christmas, eggs at Easter, and "poundies" at Hallow Eve.
