by St. Columbkille. One day a Catholic man working at hay in the field became very ill and when he was sick for some time a great thirst came over him. He walked across the field seeking water and finally he came to this well. He bent down and drank some of the water and in a few minutes he was quite well and strong again. He was very much surprised and told the owner about what had happened, and then the man Morrow told him about St. Columbkille blessing the well.
There is another holy well on a rock behind Cashelard Chapel.
There is a holy well at Tullaghan and the people around there visit it on St. Patrick’s day.
