  1. One player is the mother hen. She holds something and lets on she has oats in it. All the other players are around her, supposed to be eating the oats. A player walks round the mother hen, and the mother hen says:-
    "Who goes round my story-house," (The other player answers,)
    "Only Johnny Lingo,"
    Mother hen:- "Don't take any of my fat chicks," (The other player answers,) "Only only this little one," and he takes one of the chickens. This goes on until he has all the (players) chickens taken.
    He then gets the players by the hand, and the mother hen chases them until she gets her chickens back.
    When she gets them back, she beats
