  1. The following are the local names for the cliffs on the Stradbally Coast. Wines, tobacco were smuggled in here and stored away in caves or underground passages.
    In Woodhouse Avenue there is the Smugglers' Cove where French wines were stored. The Wild Geese too were supposed to have hidden there while awaiting a boat to take them to France. Poll an Tobac connected with the smuggling of tobacco.
