  1. Long ago weddings were very plentiful. It is said that when people were going to any wedding around here that they used to be on horse-back and after the marriage they used to go racing from the chapel gate to Clashmore Bridge. Any rich person who has a son or daughter to get married gives a fortune for the one who gets married. Long ago people used to have an all night's dance in the home of the bride and some boys would dress themselves up as strawboys and go to the dance and stay dancing all night.
