The butter spades should be also cleand and scrubbed. Then the churn and the spades should be left out to cool in the fresh air for a short while. Then the churn in brought in and the cream is is put into it and my mother and father churn. The churn generally takes a half an hour in Summer and three quarters of an hour in Winter. In the Winter the vessel in which the cream is in should be put standing in hot water or else hot water should be added to the cream.
