    was "on the ice" which means that goods were given on credit, on the book was also used for goods on credit.
    It was considered unlucky to transact business on Sundays and holidays.
    In former times markets were held at cross-roads and outside farmers gates.
    These markets were held at Clonkee cross-roads, Rathmnamaugh cross-roads and also in a barn belonging to Jack Strong in Rathnamaugh.
    Markets are held at only one of these places now.
