  1. A Local Song (continued)

Good bye to lios an uisce

    (continued from previous page)
    Bound for Chicago
    My living to pursue
When I reach in New York
I will write it to my dear
And every line that I will pen down
I will wet it with a tear
In a bottle tied to this letter I will seal
In case the ship gets drowned
For someone living to tell the tale
    Until its message be found
Perhaps some breeze might waft its course
    Into some pretty shore
And the one that finds it might be as kind
As to send it to Knockmore
