    week at a time. When the pupils had learned the four rules - Addition, Subtraction, Multipication and Division and whey they could read and write they were finished. The rule of three - Simple proportion, was for the rich or those who thought of higher education and they were few in them days. Later there were at least four other school. One of these the Glen School at the Protestant Church was the first National school to be established in these parts. It is now closed but the old roll-books show that it was well attended.
