    stranger comes in he will help. It is said if this is not done he will steal the butter. It generally takes an hour and a half to do the churning. We know the churning is finished when we see that there is no butter left on the churn-dash and sometimes there is water poured on the churn while it is being made.
    When the butter is made it is taken on to a wooden dish and washed so as to take all the buttermilk out of it. Then some salt is applied. When this is done it is made into rolls.
