    Long ago there was a man and his wife and his family living in Claggan. One day when the man and his daughter were in town it rained very heavily and a flood arose in the river. It happened to be Christmas time and they had many things with them on their horse. There was no bridge on the big river then and when they were coming home there was a big flood in the river and
