    When boys want tops and have not any money to buy them they go to the tailor...

    When boys want tops and have not any money to buy them they go to the tailor and get a few spools. They shape the spool like a top stuff the hole with a piece of timber, then they put a spike into it and the top is made.
    When boys want water-guns they get a few pieces of boultry sticks and take the pith out of them. They put pieces of the shank of a clay pipe in the ends of the sticks. They get another thin rod and tie a piece of cloth on the end of it. Then they put the thin rod into the other stick. When they wanted to fill the gun with water all they had to do was to pull up the thin rod, and when they went to empty it, all they have to do is to shove
