  1. When the people are making a churning before they start they shake a grain a salt on the lid of the churn. While the churning is being made if a person comes in for anything he would not get it because he might bring the butter. If a person comes in and says anything about a child when he goes the people of the house spit on the child or he would get sick. If the people went to throw water out at night they would say cuga cuga an uisce salach and it would keep away the fairies.
