Another herb known as Saint Patrick's cabbage was used to stop bleeding or heal wounds. Another known in Irish the realluide was used as a cure for indigestion. The water cress, used as a cure for cancer. The dandelion was used as a cure for ringworm.
Some people looked for cures by bathing wound or sores in certain healing water. At the north eastern point of our townland where three parishes two dioceses and two baronies meet at this spot, it was a common sight up to quite lately to see people come and bathe their sores or wounds where the waters of the different parishes meet.
It is said that all the people who went there were cured.
