  1. The bread which was used long ago wass oatmeal bread. Potato cakes were made on certain occasions. Potato cakes are made yet. Boxty is also made. Boxty is made from raw potatoes cuts in very thin slices and mixed with salt. Bread was baked on a griddle. It was made in a wooden dish.
