- (continued from previous page)put a small coal under the churn before the begin. If a stranger comes in while the churning is being made he takes the churndash and churns for a while. When it is made the butter is taken out of the churn and put into the butter dish. Then water is poured on it and it is washed and all butter-milk is washed out of it and salt if put on it and then it is made into a roll.
The butter-milk is used for making bread and some of it is given to pigs and hens.- Collector
