- Shops were common in olden times. Buying and selling were carried on after Mass in olden times but it is not carried on now. The articles that were sold in olden times were potatoes, oats, wheat and barley.
Money that was mostly given in exchange for anything. Goods were often bartered in this district and labour was given in return for goods. The market was held long ago in the towns and is still kept there.
The coins that were used in olden times were a four-penny piece and a four-shilling piece.
