  1. 1 For a Sore Throat. Heat an old stocking and tie it tightly around the throat before you go to bed.
    2 To cure a Scorch of a nettle. Press a dock-leaf to the scorches and they will soon disappear.
    3 For a burn from steam. Put flour to the burn.
    4 For the Chin-cough. Donkey's milk.
    5 For the sole of your foot when it is itchy. Rub dry soap on it.
    6 For chilblains. (1) Rub an onion on the chilblains. (2) Mix paraffin oil and salt and rub it on the chilblains.
    7 For Consumption. Boil and eel's skin, and drink the water the (eel) skin was boiled in.
    8 Swellings. Chicken weed boiled
