    were also seen several times in the early hours, on a summer's morning, sitting peacefully on the grass, their enchanted cloaks spread out beside them, and each one combing her long and beautiful [hair]. A young man who saw them on more than one occasion determined to try his luck and courage. Barefooted he crept up and succeeded in getting possession of [one of] the cloaks and put it into his pocket; whereupon the two others like a flash put on their cloaks and disappeared beneath the waters. The young man now moved towards the third one and had a pleasant talk with her. He invited her to his home, and showed her to his mother. After a short time they were so well pleased with each other, that they married, and lived happily for some years.
