    Long ago when the old people used to borrow salt they would not give it back, they used to say it was not right.
    They had no lamps and they got their light by cutting into small thin long bits, wood they got in the bog called "bog-deal" and they used to have it stuck up the chimney to dry, and when it would be about two months there take it down and light one at a time. The bits were called spales.
