  1. Old Cures.
    Cold tea when tea-leaves are strained off is good for sore eyes. A little of this rubbed into the eyes daily for a few weeks will prove successful in most cases.
    A few drops of blood from a member of any Cahill family will cure "St Anthony's fire"
    The covering (an brat) of a new-born foal of a mare will cure the "split lip" in a person. Put the brat over the lip, and keep fingers on it till it adheres to the lip.
    Leave it on then till it disappears of its own accord. The lip will be cured in a few days.
    To rub the tooth of the dead person's skull to one's own gum - when a grave is open will prevent toothache coming on one.
    To beat a person where the pain is - with nettles till it
