    bargain is made. Sometimes when two men are making a bargain another man comes in and helps them to make it. If a man wanted fourteen pounds for a cow and the buyer would only give twelve pounds. They would split the difference and the buyer would give thirteen pounds for the cow. This custom is practiced very much. When a person buys a beast (they give the person they buy) they owner gives them back some money which is called the luck penny.
    Different brands are used for branding cattle. Some people brand them by nicking a bit out of their ear. Long ago if the nicked their right ear they could not sell them because it was on the left they should nick them. They have a little instremint in which the name of the person is on they put it in they fire and when it is red-hot
