Donegal Town. - For some years the late Mr. Adam Mc Clay had in his possession twenty five interesting coins. He found them on his farm about three miles outside Laghey. These coins were current in the reigns of Queen Elizabeth, King Charles I and James II. In size they varied from one shilling to a five shilling piece. The find was made during draining operations, some time ago. Tradition has it that at the time Red Hugh O'Donnell fled from Donegal Castle making his escape, his intention was to reach Pettigo Mountains. On the way he arrived at(continues on next page)
