  1. Marriages take place most frequently in Shrove. The month of May is thought unlucky for marriages, and Mondays & Saturdays are thought unlucky. Matches are not made in our district. Money is given as dowery sometimes. Rice and confetti are thrown at the people on the wedding day. There does be a wedding feast held.
