  1. The Land League was intensively supported in its day in this part of the country. The policemen were often very hostile and one policeman put his foot through the side of one of the league's drums. But this is the story of another Policeman from this part of Ireland.
    I won't give his name but this particular young man was sent to the Galway District and he was told off to guard a Landlord who was marked for his cruelty and injustice.
