  1. I live in the village of Ballyburke. Long ago a family of the Bourke's lived on the river bank in an old casle. That is the reason why it is called Ballyburke. The old ruins of the castle are still remaining.
    It is a very small village. It contains only eleven houses. The most of them are thatched. Their are only three slated houses in Ballyburke. The houses are kept very neat and tidy as they are whitewashed very often. There is a small lake in Ballyburke it is called Locha na Geann. It is said that Seán a Sagart
