  1. Flour was made locally in Aghade mill and wheaten meal flour is still made there. Bread was made from oatmeal in olden times. Potato cakes were often made.
    Some flour was mixed with the potatoes and the cake was used fresh. When it got old and sodden it was called "bonach."
    A cross was and is cut on the top of every homemade cake. This divided the top of the cake into four quarters. This is still done. Bread was made in a "bakepan." (Ilustration).
