  1. Long ago the farmers did not send their milk to a creamery as there were no such things as creameries.
    Instead they made butter and packed it into firkins and sent it to Cork.
    Some farmers could not make any butter because some neighbours milked the cows or brought a bucket of water from the spring well before the house- holder.
    A certain man who lived at Tullaher could not make any butter.
    On May morning the father lay hiding in some place near the spring well.
    After some time he saw a man approaching the well. The owner ran to the well but
