  1. There is a holy well in Carrickallen Cootehill which was visited by Saint Anthony. An invalid was cured at this well from Annaglough Cootehill of the name of Cusack. The doctor was with him several times, but finally told him he would have to go under an operation.
    His mother got water from Saint Anthony's well, and washed him in it, and when the doctor came back he was cured, and the doctor was astonished.
    There is another well in the townland of Drumhurt Cootehill and it is said to have been visited by Saint Brigid, it was in the old graveyard, but it was closed, and it sprang up where Kill well is now.
