  1. This story was told to me by my father. It is in Carraigeagh forth. It is in the townland od Carraigeagh. It is in the parish of Kilinkere. There is supposed to be a crock of gold hidden in it.
    It is supposed to be hidden there by fairies or some good people. Lights were often saw at it at night and the people say that the fairies come there at night to take care of it afraid some one would come to take it to one looked for it or tried to get it.

    Long years ago when the Danes were banished from this country they buried their treasure. It is said they put a crock of gold in a spa well at the foot of our garden. And left an eel to guard it. Some say they asked a man to guard it and he refused. So they turned
