  1. The road on which I live is the Carlow - Baltinglass road. It was made about the year 1830. Another old road runs from this road to the Half-way Ford. This road is now closed. It was made about the year 1780. The rate of pay was fivepence per day for road work then.

  2. A short distance from our house, there is a crossroads, and a man was killed there some years ago. There is a cross to mark the spot where he was killed. Knocknagee is the name of the crossroads.
