    was gone and the men were digging they heard a voice saying from under the ground, "Hurry hurry or ye won't get the gold." The men hurried and after a long time digging they got a crock of gold. The two men were very pleased, and went home with the gold. That night they were talking about the gold and one of the men said "If we had asked the lady to dig two spades of clay we might get two crocks of gold."
    Says the other man "We will go tomorrow and pretend to be digging for another crock of gold, and the lady might come on again. Then we will ask her to dig two spades of clay, and then we might get two crocks of gold." As they were digging the lady came along and said "Dont be pretending to be digging" says she. "Bring back the other crock of gold here and I will see if you have enough in it." The two men went home for the crock of gold and brought it back to the lady and when she saw it says she, "Ye have too
