  1. The fairs are held locally in towns. Buyers never makes bargains in the country. The fair is held in the street. Toll is paid on animals sold that are going to the station.
    When an animal is sold the halter is given with it. When an animal is sold a piece of silver is given back as a luck penny.
    When a bargain is made they strike hands to show their agreement.
    When an animal is sold a mark is put on its hip with raddle. The special pig fair of the year is held the first Friday of October in Longford town.
    The luckpenny is given back according to price of the animal.
    Fairs were never held on hills or forts in the district.
    Fairs is held also the first Monday of each month
