  1. The Mount of Ballygowan
On the mount of Ballygowan on the out-skirts of Ardee in Co. Louth there is a white-thorn and fairies are supposed to live under that bush. If anyone takes a branch from the tree the fairies come during the night and take it back to the mount. My sister took a branch from this bush and she brought it home with her and when she went to look for it in the morning it was gone.
