  1. This is a legend connected with the Glen of Aherlow. It was told to me by my Aunt who heard it when she was a child.
    There was a strange noise heard through the Glen about five o'clock each evening.
    The noise seemed to start from a large manor-house called Ballinacourty.
    The people who occupied the manor-house were terrified and would not leave it after five o'clock.
    The people for miles around would not leave their houses either at the same hour.
