    Those rendered homeless had to seek for alternative places. Norton's who were evicted from Carrick St., rented the shop and a room in Fethard St, from Thomas Kickham(known as the Dovey), brother of Charles Kickham at £10 a year. Here they carried on the boot trade for a while.
    O'Briens were bycotted by almost everyone in Mullinahone(at that time they owned the shop in Carrick St., and the post office in Chapel St.,). After twenty years the land commission took up the case, the O'Brien's and a deputation representing the tenants were called up. Canon Cantwell P.P. and Messrs. Stephen O'Connor, Carrick St.
