I have been told that the Scullys evicted seventy five families near Tipperary The doors' of those poor and unfortunate people were burst in by what is called a "Battering -ram" The timber underneath the roofs of the houses were cut with saws chains were then put around the roofs and the houses knocked down. It was people that lived in Ballybeg that invented the "Battering-Ram"
