    Area: 27 Statute acres
Position: One statute mile due north of Ballinahinch.
History: Name "Lochalanne" has evidently ? some connection with "Danes" - Loclannaig.
An island stands in the middle of the marsh but cannot be approached owing to dangerous swaying of the [sgrath?] underfoot: this [sgrath?] it is said forms the surface of submerged lake which is connected by an underground channel with O'Brien's Glen N.W of "Lochlalanne". At a point about mid way between end of marsh and beginning of O'Brien's Glen a horse belonging to O'Brien, broke the surface sod and sank into the ground and had to be roped up. This occurred in the spring of 1937.
