  1. My Mother told me strange stories of the things that happened in the district long ago.
In Patrick Hannon's farm in Ballyneety, there is a forth, and it is said to be haunted. If people pass there after dark, they are frequently led astray. It is said that a man passed there after dark, and that he heard music, and then a light flashed around him. He was taken into another field, and trown into a stream near by.
There is another story of a man who was coming from Ballyneety. he saw the light, and heard the music, and he turned back, and went into an neighbouring house and stayed there until morning.
