  1. Penal Days
    Fint Moore told me that there is a field in Clondarrig and it is called the Mass field because Mass used to be said there in Penal Days. He also told me that there was a Chapel in Clondarrig.
    In Hipwell’s “deep lane” the people used to hear mass in Penal Days and the reason why it is called the “deep lane” is because there are two big high fields on each side of it. In Churchfield there was a church one time and that is why it is called Churchfield.
