- Once upon a time there was a man hunting and he had a hound with him. The hound suddenly turned into a big horse and began to spit at him and he saw a big strong bright light all around him and he could not get out of the field he was in. When he got out of the light he went on a stray pass. He walked into a field and he went up this field. It was very dark. Then he struck a match and he was beside a big flax hole. Then he turned his coat inside out and he was able to get out of the field.

- The only story told of St Patrick is that while travelling through the County he camped for a night in Tyholland, and the people there milked his herd of goats and stole the milk.
