  1. The best mower we had about here for some time was a man named Thomas Kearns. (R.I.P.) He always mowed with a scythe and cut an Irish acre in a day.
    After having the acre cut he had to milk cows, feed calves and pigs. He was up again about six o' clock in the morning and milked etc before beginning work.
